Joining the north church

Membership & baptism

Covenant membership is a commitment to one another — a willing pledge to guard, care, submit, support, and minister together for the building up of our church body.

Getting baptized

Baptism is a visible symbol of God’s saving work within a person. It is the outward sign of belonging to the people of God—those who have repented and put their faith in Jesus Christ.

1

Attend a baptism class

An introduction to what baptism means and why the church practices it the way we do.

2

Meet with an elder

A conversation about your faith and your readiness to be baptized.

3

Record your testimony

We record your story so it can be shared with the congregation on the day.

4

Be baptized

You are baptized before the church family, who welcome you and commit to walk with you.

Becoming a member

Four steps, and you can begin at any point in the year. The classes are non-sequential, so you don't need to wait for a new cycle to start.

1

Attend the classes

Complete all seven sessions of Discover The North Church, held Sunday mornings during the second service. Take them in any order, as your schedule allows.

2

Meet with an elder

A conversation with one of our elders about your testimony, your understanding of the gospel, and any questions you're carrying.

3

Be baptized, if you haven't been

Believer's baptism by immersion is part of membership. If that's still ahead of you, the baptism track above runs alongside this one.

4

Covenant Affirmation service

You join the church publicly, before the congregation, at a Covenant Affirmation service.
